Your music is personal and unique and recording options should be
customized to your ideas and goals for the finished product.
Sometimes being charged by the hour makes an artist rush and/or settle
for a sub-par performance. There are things you can do to get the most of
your studio time. Bands, before stepping into the studio, I suggest you
practice your songs and discuss as a band how you want to record your
parts. It’s also important to discuss how much time you want to invest to
get your music the way you want it.
The daily rates for bands will have one free hour of drum set up time if
requested. Rates include use of all equipment, all engineering and data
masters of your final mixes.
If one of the following options doesn’t suit your needs, please feel free to
contact me so we can discuss. It is my priority to make sure every one of
my customers is happy with the recording process from start to finish. As
a musician with 11 years experience, I will offer you as much free creative
input as you want. You can take the advice or you can leave it, it’s your
music and I want it to be just the way you envisioned it.
Here are some example sessions for bands who
have never been in a studio.
- One-day demo. For bands on a budget.
If you need a quick c.d. of songs for venues, clubs, pre-production, or to put practice
room tracks down quickly then a full day of recording should be all you need. I'll set
everything up to record drums, guitar, and bass all at once and get your best takes of
each of your songs. After getting the best takes, the vocalist will perform over these tracks.
The quality is a great studio sound
but with a live-show feel to it because of everyone performing together. This option
allows you to concentrate on your best songs, or crank out as many as you want during
that full day. This option is also great for incomplete bands needing demos for
auditioning new members.
This way is best run on Saturdays or Sundays from 10am to 9pm with an hour break for
$250.
This option allows you to spend more time on your drum tracks along with a click track if
need be. It will allow us to layer multiple guitar parts with different amps and tones. If you
are looking to turn your 4 or 5 best songs into something ready for promos, labels or
websites, the extra day will payoff.
20 hours for $450. I recommend 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday, then 4 hours another
day for touch-ups and mixing.
This option is best for full length projects or bands needing a no-time-limit style of
recording. It is the optimal package for bands/artists that like to experiment and develop
new ideas in the studio. Musicians that have used this package in the past were able to
write new songs in a creative and self-paced environment. Writing can be hard to do
when there are bands playing next door at the rehearsal room or when you don’t have
a way to record/save the new music that you are creating. This style of recording
requires many days, weekends and a lot of patience. We will discuss your music,
recording needs, style and how much time you will need to finish your project before
we even begin. We will also reevaluate these throughout the process to make sure we
are meeting the goals for your finalized product.
The cost for this package is based per song and varies on number of instruments in the
band, the style of music, and other variables. Please contact me for customized price
quote.
